Your first consultation with Dr Markham will be $270 with a rebate of $81.
Subsequent consultations will be $150 and a $40 rebate from Medicare.
For your worker injury consults, your first consult you will not be charged if you have an approval number from your insurance company or employer at time of the consultation.
If you do not have this, you will be charged.
The only exception is in circumstances where the injury occurred in the last 24 hours.
In this case, approval is not required, and we will bill the employer directly.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

  • Recent pathology reports, radiology reports and imaging (blood tests, X-rays, MRI, Ultrasound, CT).
  • A GP referral letter – valid for 12 months from the first date you see Dr Markham.

Or specialist referral – valid for three months from the first time you see Dr Markham.

  • Your Medicare card
  • Your private health care card
  • Your Veterans Affairs Card (if applicable)
  • Your Pension Card (if applicable)
  • A list of current medications
  • Any recent progress letters from physiotherapists
  • Your initial surgery report (if you are seeking revision surgery)
  • WorkCover/Third Party Patients require an approval and details of their claim

If you forget to bring imaging this will mean more of your consult time is spent with Dr Markham chasing your images, which may also cause delays for other patients.  If the imaging cannot be located it may mean you have to pay for a second consult to go through the results with you.

What should I do if I have sustained an urgent injury?

  • We keep appointments open for urgent injuries every week.
  • These injuries are triaged on a needs basis and generally include fractures, disclocations, infections, biceps tendon tears, ACL tears, or worker injuries.
  • Arthritis or common sporting injuries are painful but are not usually triaged as urgent, however we will try to fit you in as soon as possible.
