About Dr Philip Markham
Dr Philip Markham is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon bringing the gold standard of hip, knee and shoulder care to patients in Wollongong, Gosford and Sydney.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Edinburgh, before completing his orthopaedic training in Australia at Sydney Hospitals which included Royal North Shore Hospital, Nepean Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
He was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2016.
Dr Markham also underwent further sub-specialty Fellowships in Hip, Knee and Revision Joint Replacement Surgery in Canberra as well as Reconstructive Shoulder Surgery on the Central Coast.
His comprehensive breadth of Upper and Lower Limb experience as well as trauma training is highly valued by his patients, along with his down-to-earth manner, and commitment to compassionate and timely care.
Dr Markham consults and operates at Wollongong Day Surgery, Shellharbour Private Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney and Gosford Private Hospital.
